What is True Wellness?

You want to be healthy? Easy. Just eat a vegan diet. Wait. No. Eat like the cavemen to be really healthy. Um, nope. A low-fat, high carb diet is the way to go. Ooops. Wrong again. It’s a low-carb, high fat diet that will get you that beach body. No, no, no. The only way to be truly healthy is to eat a plant based, whole foods diet. I think. Let me get back to you on this…

Now, exercise. That’s easy. HIIT workouts are the best way to lose weight. Hmm…maybe not. I got it. Zumba all the way. No. Wait. I know, it’s heavy weight training. Or is it light weight training? Running! That’s the way! Nah, I think it’s power walking. Wait, I remember. It’s Crossfit. Yeah, Crossfit is the only way to lose weight and get a sick body. Or not.

You see, there are so many different ways to eat and exercise but, despite what various coaches and teachers will tell you, there is no one answer that works for everyone. True health is about finding what works best for you, in the kitchen and in (or out of) the gym.

But wellness goes beyond the food and drink you ingest and how you move your body. Wellness is about finding what works for you in all the areas of life that influence your well-being–relationships, spirituality, career, and more.
